Structural funds
Are designed to achieve economic and social cohesion within the European Union. Part of the EU budget.
These funds are:
- The European Regional Development Fund from 1975
- The European Social Fund created in the Rome Treaty from 1958
- The Guidance section of the European Agricultural guidance and Guarantee Fund (EAGGF). Was split into a guidance and guarantee sections in 1964
- The Financial Instrument for Fisheries Guidance (FIFG) from 1993.
