Foreign representative of the Union

The Lisbon Treaty has put forward that there should be an EU foreign “minister” to conduct the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy. The Foreign Minister will also be vice president in the EU Commission. Javier Solana has been appointed to this position.

The Lisbon Treaty deletes the word Foreign Minister and uses instead the title "High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy".
