Tajani, Antonio (1953- )
Italian Vice-President of the Commission, responsible for Industry and Entrepreneurship.
In the first Barroso Commission Tajani was Commissioner with responsibility for transport policy. He replaced Franco Frattini in 2008 as the Italian Commissioner.
A former Vice-President of the EPP (European People's Party) s a substitute for the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and a member of the Delegation for relations with Israel.
He was a Member of the European Parliament for Central Italy with the Forza Italia from 2004 to 2008 and sat on the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs. Member of the EP again from 2014 where he resigned as commissioner.
