OSCE - Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe

A co-operation on security and peace issues between all European nations, the Central Asian Republics, Russia, the USA and Canada. Founded in 1975 by theĀ Helsinki Agreement, it has now 56 member states.

Previously known as CSCE - but transformed into the OSCE between 1990 and 1995.

Decisions of the OSCE must be unanimous. Since the end of the Cold War, the OSCE has redefined its objectives in the Charter of Paris of 1990, and refers to a new age of democracy, peace and unity in Europe.
