June Movement

A Danish movement founded 23 August 1992 to uphold the Danish “No” of that year to the Treaty of Maastricht. The movement stopped in September 2009 following a defeat in the European elections.

The JuneMovement was campaigning for democracy, transparency and true subsidiarity. The movement also call for minimum harmonisation instead of maximum harmonisation. Member states should be permitted to have stricter rules on environment, health, welfare and consumer protection.

The June Movement initiated the establishment of TEAM in Edinburgh, December 1992 and the EUDemocrats, one of the Europen political parties.
