European Investment Fund, EIF
Agreed at the Edinburgh Summit in 1992 as a way of supporting - on a commercial base - small and medium sized companies. The European Union, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and other commercial banks are shareholders/members of the EIF.
The EIF complements the actions of the EIB.
