Georgieva, Kristalina (1953 - )
Bulgarian economist serving as European Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response in the Barroso II Commission from 2009-14.
Rumiana Jeleva was the first Bulgarian nominee for the post, but she withdraw after she failed to answer questions about allegations over her financial interests under the Commission hearings in the European Parliament. Kristalina Georgieva was then approved as Bulgarian Commissione
