Figel, Jan (1960 - )
Slovakian Commissioner in the first Barroso Commission from 2004-2009.
Figel was responsible for Education, Training, Culture and Youth. Jan Figel graduated at the Technical University in Kosice, Slovakia as an electrical engineer.
He has a four-year experience as State secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and he was Bratislava's chief negotiator with the European Union.
