Action Committee for the United States of Europe, ACUS
The "Father of the EU" and the first President of the High Authority of the original European Coal and Steel Community, Jean Monnet, formed ACUSE to campaign for a federal Europe in 1955. The Committee played an important role in the conception, signature and ratification of the Treaty of Rome as well as in the later development of European integration.it linked together influential Euro-federalist campaigners in various countries
