Common Market Organisations, CMO

Organisations designed to monitor EU agriculture markets. The original aim was to provide farmers with a steady income and European consumers with secure food supplies.

The EU employs various measures in order to meet the objectives of the Common Agricultural Policy, including market interventions, direct payments to farmers, production quotas, export subsidies, customs duties and agricultural tariffs.
