Before their accession to the EU in 1994, 9 out of 10 of the applicant countries held referendums. Croatia had also a referendum (except Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania):

Poland

Referendum 7-8 June 2003, 77.5% voted "Yes"

Slovakia

Referendum 16/17 May 2003, 92.5% voted "Yes"

Slovenia

Referendum 23 March 2003, 89% voted "Yes"
