Lisbon Process

A voluntary co-ordination of social and employment policy amongst EU member states, which introduced the Open Coordination Method. It has the target of making the EU the most competitive and knowledge-based economy in the world by 2010. It was launched at an EU Summit in the Portuguese capital in 2000.
