The General Report on the Activities of the European Union is published annually by the Commission as required by Article 249.2 TFEU. The report shall include a social chapter according to Art. 161 TFEU.

The General Report, which is presented to the European Parliament in February, reviews the activities of the European Union in the previous year. The most recent edition of the General Report covers the year 2008.

Since 2003, the General Report can be consulted via a search engine targeting the content of all the reports available on the Internet.

Further information can be found in the Bulletin of the European Union, which gives a monthly account of the activities of the Commission and the other Community institutions.

The printed version of the General Report can be ordered from the Office for Official Publications in Luxembourg.

The Bulletin of the European Union provides an insight into the activities of the European Commission and the other Community institutions. It is published by the Secretariat-General of the Commission. It is supplemented by the annual General Report on the Activities of the European Union, which the Commission is obliged to publish under the terms of the Treaties.
