Finland has a population of 5.26 million and an area of 304,500 km². It joined the EU in 1995.

After the enlargement of the EU, it has 7 votes out of 321 in the Council and 14 seats of 732 in the EU Parliament.

For Finland, the revised Constitution foresees 13 seats in the European Parliament (14 seats today) and a weight of 1.07 % (Finland´s EU population) of its votes in the Council (as against 2.03 % today).
