European Patent Office

The European Patent Office in Munich grants European patents for the 20 states, which signed the European Patent Convention (EPC). Since 2003, it covers all EU countries.

Agreement has been reached to introduce a new single European Patent and a European Patent Court. Denmark had a referendum May 25, 2014 on participation in the Court. Did raise the number of participants to expected 25.

The cooperation is based on enhanced cooperation.
