Code of conduct
Rules for behaviour of Commissioners.
The Commission has drawn up a set of internal rules governing the conduct of commissioners. The ‘Code of Conduct’ was adopted on 24 November 2004.
It includes rules for the declaration of their economic interests and their spouses’ activities and rules for visits and gifts. The Code was a concession to the European Parliament after criticism of the acceptance by José Barroso of a holiday from Greek shipowner Spiros Latsis.
