Cabotage
The imposition of restrictions, often through licensing requirements, on the operational area of transport companies. Imposed by national governments to protect their transport industries: airlines, for instance, are often in the news as Governments negotiate the allocation of landing slots.
Cabotage rules are now decided by the EU.
