Bull premiums

EU subsidy for bulls. In the EU farmers receive a premium for every bull. Although the Common Agricultural Policy is under reform, the subsidies increased from 29 Euro per animal in 1987 to 176 in 2000 and to 210 in 2004. The annual premium for one year was around half of the market value of the bull.
