Bull premiums

In the EU farmers receive a premium for every bull. Although the Common Agricultural Policy is under reform, the subsidies have increased from 29 Euro in 1987 to 176 in 2000 and to 210 in 2004. The premium for one year is now around half of the market value of the bull.
