Brandt, Willy (1913 - 92)
German SPD leader and Chancellor. One of the main contributors to the détente "Ost-politik", for which he received the Nobel Peace Price in 1971.
Member of the European Parliament from 1979-83. One of the buildings in the European Parliament close to the Place Luxembourg in Brussels is named after Brandt.
