Trans-European Networks, TEN
TEN are considered as key elements for the creation of an internal market and for the promotion of social cohesion.
Transeuropean networks are now a shared competence in the Lisbon Treaty Art. 4.g TFEU. National legislation therefore disappear when the EU decides on a topic.
Art. 170-172 TFEU deals with transeuropean networks.
The cross-border transport, telecommunication and energy infrastructure is financed by the structural funds, cohesion fund and the European Investment Bank.
