Railways
The EU has binding laws (directives) governing railways and inland waterways as part of the Common Transport Policy in Arts. 90-100 TFEU in the Lisbon Treaty.
The so-called "Railway-Package" aims at freeing railway traffic within the EU from unnecessary restrictions.
Notes
Through the EEA agreement the directives on railways and inland waterways also apply to Iceland, even though Iceland does not have a single train or canal.
