European Movement

Founded in 1948 to support European integration towards a federal Europe. The movement has national branches in most European countries. There are 38 National Councils, 33 International Associations and 3 Supporting Members

It is subsidised by the EU budget at both international and national levels.

Notes

• Valéry Giscard d`Estaing was its international President for eight years.
• German MEP Jo Leinen has taken over after former EP President Pat Cox in 2011 after 6 years as Vice President.
