Kroes, Neelie (1941 - )
A vice-president in the Commission and Commissioner for Digital Agenda, a Liberal from the Netherlands.
In the Barroso I Commission from 2004-2009 Neelie Kroes served as Commissioner responsible for competition. Came under fire on her appointment because she had been a managing director or had served on the boards of firms for which she then had responsibility as a Commissioner.
Barroso had to promise to refer matters to other Commissioners when Neelie Kroes was deemed unfit to act. ALDE.
