The current round of trade negotiations, which follows on from the four others (Dillon Round, Kennedy Round, Tokyo round and Uruguay Round) although it is being conducted within the framework of the WTO and not GATT.
One of the main points of discussion in this round was the integration of the poor countries into the world economy. Among the other subjects discussed were goods and services, tariffs, measures for the winding down of tariffs, anti-dumping and aid, regional trade agreements, intellectual property rights, the environment and the settlement of disputes.
