Simplification

Simplification

Simplification is an attempt to make complicated decision-making methods easier to understand.

The Convention on the Future of Europe had a working group on simplification chaired by the former Italian Prime Minister, Giuliano Amato. The group wanted a radical reduction in the, currently 32, different ways of making EU decisions but did not succeed entirely with the Lisbon Treaty.

Simplication is also a word used to describe technical simplification of EU law. From 2004-09 1600 acts have been simplified. Se more under "Codification".
