Estonia
Estonia has a population of 1.34 million and an area of 45.226 km2. Estonia became an EU member on 1 May 2004.
Formerly a component republic of the USSR. Became an independent state in 1991. Signed a Europe agreement in 1995 and entered into Accession Partnership in 1998. Through a referendum on 14 September 2003, 67% of Estonians voted in favour of Estonia´s accession to the EU.
