Multi-fibre agreement, MFA
Agreement concerning international trade with textiles.
Negotiated as a temporary exception from GATT in 1973. Regulates trade with certain textile products through quotas negotiated bilaterally.
Replaced by WTO's Agreement on Textiles and Clothing from 1995, that specifies that all quotas were to be replaced before 2005.
The expiration of the MFA in 2005 led to the Bra Wars.
