Chemicals
The EU legislators finalized the process of creating a new chemicals policy for Europe in December 2006.
REACH entered into force on 1 June 2007. REACH ensures that around 100,000 chemicals on the European market are registered and the most dangerous chemicals are replaced by less dangerous ones.
An EU Chemicals Agency has been established in Finland.
