Hübner, Danuta (1948 - )
Commissioner for Regional affairs in the Barroso I Commission from 2004-2009 when she was elected member of the European Parliament and was elected President of the Regional Affairs Committee.
She also worked for the United Nations as Under-Secretary General and Deputy Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva. Since she became Polish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in 2001, she has masterminded negotiations between Poland and the European Union.
After Polish entrance in the EU, she was assigned to shadowing Pascal Lamy's external trade dossier.
She led the government party of Prime Minister Tusk for the European elections in June 2009. She calls herself a liberal democrat. EPP.
