Capital of the EU

Brussels is seen as the EU capital, but technically there is no single capital.

The EU institutions have official seats in both Luxembourg and Strasbourg. Agencies are linked to specific towns in Europe. The list of home towns for the various agencies can only be changed by unanimity amongst all member states.

More than one million citizens have signed a petition to stop the European Parliaments's “travelling circus” between Strasbourg and Brussels.
